Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas and well known for Paradise Island, where the hotel Atlantis and aquarium are located. It’s full of sea life and elegance!

Mom and I spent a day trip to Paradise Island as a cruise destination. For part of the day, we went to the beach, amazed to see its clear blue waters. It wasn’t crowded surprisingly, perhaps since a majority spent time in the city.

I went snorkeling and observed small fish swimming near the sand. They were either yellow or silver colored. At first, it felt awkward swimming with fish, compared to viewing them through glass walls. But at the same time, it was amazing! I guess you could say it was like observing bacteria directly under a microscope, except they were fish.

After spending a few hours at the beach, we walked over to Atlantis aquarium. It’s enormous, half being outdoor and half-indoor. There’s a choice of viewing overhead from a bridge or in a cave. One could observe a variety of manta rays, sharks, and some funny looking fish.

We also took photos of the scenic areas around the aquarium. Full of palm trees, bridges, waterfalls, and pools, it indeed sounds like paradise!

.We then checked-in the Atlantis hotel (pun intended). The lobby is extravagant, with a Neptune theme and cream colored walls.

We spent the least amount of time in here though, because it was about time to leave. So we took a cab back to the cruise, saying farewell to Atlantis.

I did a little research and found out that the hotel we were in (Atlantis Royal Towers) was only one of four Atlantis hotels! But whether staying in this hotel or not, Nassau would make for a week trip!
